Recent Studies Suggest That Regular Exercise Can Prevent and Reverse Aging Skin

A scientific study conducted at McMaster University found that the participants over the age of 40 who frequently exercised had healthier stratum corneums and dermis layers. In fact, the skin samples studied were similar to the composition of those in their 30's and 20's, including men and women over 65. Further along in the research study, they asked normally sedentary volunteers over 65 to begin working out regularly. They either jogged or cycled strenuously for 30 minutes twice a week. After three months, the skin biopsies showed that their skins age had reversed. While the participants started out with normal mature skin, after implementing exercise, they had seemed to reverse the clock by 30+ years. While other factors such as lifestyle, diet and genetics are also at play, they concluded that exercising made a significant impact on skin cell health.

What Ways Might Cardiovascular Activities Help Provide Anti-Aging Benefits Overall?

There are many reasons why exercising can assist in restoring youthful skin. Cardiovascular activities increase blood flow, allowing blood cells to carry vital nutrients to cells. Regular fitness activities also curb obesity and weight gain, which can put additional stress on the organs, tissues and systems responsible for maintaining overall health and equilibrium in the body. Exercise has been known to improve mood, encourage rebalancing hormones and reducing negative impacts of age diseases like osteoporosis and diabetes that disproportionally effect aging populations.

Other Non-Surgical Age Prevention Methods

A combination of healthy dietary practices, a regular exercise routine and a quality skin care regimen can help to restore the glowing vitality of young skin. Dr. Harley and her team of experienced skin care specialists provide many natural, surgery free options for reversing symptoms of aging skin.
