The Benefits of a Chemical Peel

Dr. Harley uses a combination of alpha-hydroxy and supportive peeling agents that help provide a powerful yet gentle way to renew your skins texture. Dramatic results can be experienced after just a single session, such as skin tone improvement, reduced fine lines and wrinkles and an overall healthier appearance. Cosmetic surgery can be expensive and invasive, but chemical peels can provide similar benefits without the risks. To maximize the benefits of chemical peels, a series of sessions can be utilized to increase the longevity of your renewed and invigorated skin.

Dr. Harley's Power Peel

Take your facial to the next level with Dr. Harley's Power Peel. Get rid of the outer layer of dead, dry and flaky skin cells and reveal the beautiful you underneath. The Power Peel harnesses the exfoliating superpower of microdermabrasion with the therapeutic benefits of a salicylic or glycolic peel. When used together, patients can reduce superficial lines and blemishes, improve an unbalanced skin tone and diminish the appearance of acne and facial scarring. With continued treatments, the Power Peel can effectively stimulate new skin cells and improve production of elastin and collagen for lasting beauty.

What Conditions Do Chemical Peels Alleviate?

The chemical peels available at the Harley Institute Institute are an excellent way to revitalize aging skin, but they can also improve a variety of dermatological conditions including damage from sun exposure, chronic acne, scarring, melisma, hyperpigmentation and more.

Caring for Skin After Treatment

Chemical peels are minimally invasive procedure that requires zero surgery and no recovery time. However, patients can expect for there to be minor sensitivity. It's best to avoid sun exposure for a week after treatment, and to wear sunscreen with at least SPF 20. Excessive activity and strenuous exercise can be put on hold for up to 3 days, as perspiration can cause extra discomfort. Skin peeling is to be expected as additional layers of skin are released. Take care not to pull or "peel" away any skin tissue, avoid heavily perfumed cosmetics and use gentle facial cleanser in the days following treatments.
